Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join our team at Motherwell Health Centre.

The post holder will provide a domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire, (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a ‘safe’ and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI )standards.

To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

Experience

  1. Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
  2. Required to undertake on-the-job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked ), to achieve full competency across a range of duties
  3. Working knowledge of Health & Safety including participation in risk-assessing individual tasks
  4. Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
  5. Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
  6. Undertake and complete the NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
  7. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

It would be great if you also have

Recognised SVQ or relevant equivalent qualification.

Experience working in a domestic services/cleaning environment

Ability to use a range of electrical cleaning equipment
