Thera Trust is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Data Protection Officer to lead our data protection strategy and ensure compliance across the organisation.
Thera is a charitable group of 13 companies supporting people with learning disabilities with a diverse range of needs. Thera Trust is the parent of Thera Group and provides central services from its office in Grantham, enabling the companies to focus on delivering high-quality local support.
About the Role
As our Data Protection Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Thera complies with all relevant data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR.
You will:
- Lead the development and implementation of information security and data protection policies.
- Provide expert guidance and training to staff.
- Conduct supportive audits.
- Support incident management.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and internal policies.
- Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures.
- Generate and deliver training and guidance to staff.
- Foster a culture of privacy and data responsibility.
Requirement
- A degree in a relevant field and a recognised data protection certification.
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR and data security practices.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Proven experience in data protection, compliance, and risk management.
