Overview
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering an excellent opportunity for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join the Assessment and Rehabilitation Day Unit (ARDU) — part of the Department of Medicine for Older People and Stroke.
This busy outpatient department runs diverse clinics, including:
- Metabolic Bone Disease
- Osteoporosis
- Stroke
- Psychology
- Physiotherapy
- Movement Disorders
- Falls
- General Medicine
Working hours: Part-time, Monday – Wednesday (9am – 5pm)
Main Responsibilities
- Perform patient observations and venepuncture
- Safely remove IV cannulas
- Chaperone consultants during clinics
- Coordinate and organise scans (MRI, CT, Doppler)
- Handle patient telephone queries and confirm appointments
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams (MDT)
- Maintain stock levels and ensure a safe, clean clinical environment
Essential Criteria
- Willingness and ability to complete NVQ Level 3
- Experience working in a hospital setting at NVQ Level 2
- Previous Outpatient Department experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care
