Overview

As a Bank Carer, you will work in a variety of care environments including residential care homes, nursing homes, supported living settings, or domiciliary care. This position is ideal for those who value flexibility without a long-term commitment to fixed schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality personal care: washing, dressing, toileting, and continence support
  • Assist with mobility, repositioning, and transfers using approved equipment
  • Support meals, hydration, and nutrition
  • Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support
  • Carry out light domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Prompt or administer medication according to care plans and training
  • Accurately document care provided, including observations or changes in condition
  • Follow care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and workplace policies
  • Uphold confidentiality, dignity, and respect for all service users

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals
  • Caring, patient, and respectful
  • Willing to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or hold one on the Update Service)
  • Reliable and punctual

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a Carer, HCA, or Support Worker
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Experience in elderly care, dementia care, learning disabilities, or mental health
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community roles
