Overview
As a Bank Carer, you will work in a variety of care environments including residential care homes, nursing homes, supported living settings, or domiciliary care. This position is ideal for those who value flexibility without a long-term commitment to fixed schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality personal care: washing, dressing, toileting, and continence support
- Assist with mobility, repositioning, and transfers using approved equipment
- Support meals, hydration, and nutrition
- Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support
- Carry out light domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Prompt or administer medication according to care plans and training
- Accurately document care provided, including observations or changes in condition
- Follow care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and workplace policies
- Uphold confidentiality, dignity, and respect for all service users
Person Specification
Essential:
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals
- Caring, patient, and respectful
- Willing to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Right to work in the UK
- Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or hold one on the Update Service)
- Reliable and punctual
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Carer, HCA, or Support Worker
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
- Experience in elderly care, dementia care, learning disabilities, or mental health
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community roles
