Overview
Hackney Council is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Children’s & Education Transformation Portfolio. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions and improve outcomes for children, young people, and families across the borough. You will use data to tell meaningful stories about resident experiences and service performance.
About the Role
Working within the Children’s & Education Transformation Portfolio, you will:
- Analyse Complex Data: Use local and national datasets to identify trends, patterns, and areas of disproportionality.
- Visualise Insights: Create and maintain dashboards using Qlik and Google Looker Studio, and produce clear, accessible reports.
- Drive Transformation: Model potential service changes and support the development of performance frameworks.
- Champion Data Quality: Improve data quality and ensure GDPR and information governance compliance.
- Collaborate: Work closely with project managers, directors, and frontline staff to meet data requirements and communicate insights confidently.
Who We’re Looking For
Hackney seeks a motivated professional committed to its Systemic, Trauma-Informed, and Anti-Racist (STAR) practice model.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong expertise in extracting and analysing large, sensitive datasets
- Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel/Google Sheets
- Advanced skills in data visualisation (Qlik essential)
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly to diverse audiences
- Experience in local government or children’s services is highly valued
- Knowledge of SEND, safeguarding, and statutory reporting
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
