Description

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity for a Senior IT Project Manager to manage the delivery of IT projects as agreed with the Head of IT. You will ensure project objectives and schedules are delivered on time and within budget. Reporting to the Head of IT, you will be responsible for detailed planning and delivery of IT projects and will have line management responsibility for a team of Project Managers.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Manage delivery of IT projects in line with agreed objectives, timelines, and budgets
  • Support the Head of IT in assessment, procurement, development, and delivery of IT projects
  • Support management and control of the IT project portfolio
  • Provide progress updates across all core projects including risk and cost
  • Provide project governance expertise using PRINCE2 methodology
  • Lead significant capital-funded and high-profile IT projects
  • Coordinate and manage Project Management resources
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting across all projects

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent project methodology

Desirable

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or MSP
  • ITIL qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive IT project management experience in a large, complex organisation
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle
  • Strong IT project planning experience
  • Team-oriented and collaborative working experience

Desirable

  • NHS clinical systems project management experience
  • Understanding of healthcare systems and CUH systems
  • Office 365 implementation experience
  • Server migration and implementation experience
  • Technical IT systems knowledge

Knowledge

Desirable

  • In-depth understanding of NHS business and clinical environments
