Location: Aberdeen or Perth (minimum 3 days per week on site in Edzell, Angus)
Salary: £35,200 – £52,800 per year

 Overview

SSEN Transmission’s Onshore Capital Delivery Team is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of the East Coast 400kV Overhead Line Upgrade Project. This role suits someone with a background in construction or engineering and a strong interest in project management and safety-focused delivery.

 Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of transmission projects to cost, quality, and timescale targets
  • Assist in managing multi-skilled project teams across office and site locations
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to plan, execute, and monitor project activities
  • Manage work packages with a focus on value, efficiency, and cost control
  • Support budget planning and preparation of financial reports
  • Assist with tender preparation, assessments, and contract management
  • Contribute to commercial negotiations and governance processes
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities

Skills and Experience Required

  • Experience working in a project environment, ideally within construction or engineering
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements, including CDM Regulations
  • Understanding of NEC3 contract administration
  • Experience using project programming software such as P6
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence (essential due to site travel requirements)
