Overview
Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Domestic Assistant (Band 2) to maintain high standards of cleanliness across wards, offices, and public areas at Royal Oldham Hospital. This role supports patient safety, infection prevention, and a positive hospital environment.
Working Hours Available
- Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 16:15 (37.5 hours)
- Monday – Tuesday: 08:00 – 16:15 (15 hours)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean patient rooms, wards, bathrooms, and toilets
- Maintain cleanliness of communal areas including corridors, lounges, and dining areas
- Carry out deep-cleaning operations when required
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures
- Work to daily and weekly cleaning schedules
- Comply with health, safety, and fire regulations
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Ability to follow standardised cleaning schedules
- Effective communication skills
- Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths
Desirable Criteria
- NVQ Level 1 in Cleaning or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of COSHH
- Understanding of infection control procedures
