Payroll Entry Specialist (Full-Time)
SmartPay Solutions – Remote
Pay: $20 – $22 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, organized Payroll Entry Specialist to join our growing organization. You will accurately transfer payroll data from various sources—including written and recorded reports—into our web-based platform. This role requires independence, attention to detail, and comfort handling large amounts of numerical and written data.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter payroll data into our web-based platform, Excel templates, and files
- Transfer data from written records (spreadsheets, PDFs, paper formats) via email and online payroll systems
- Handle numerical data accurately and efficiently
- Utilize payroll vendor systems and integrations
- Apply advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data validation)
- Comply with information security policies for sensitive information
- Summarize and compile data for standardized reports
- Verify data by checking and comparing source documentation
- Manage and respond to email/client correspondence
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: High school diploma
- Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, or related field
Experience:
- 2+ years in data entry or equivalent
- Payroll processing experience with a payroll vendor
- Familiarity with payroll platforms (e.g., Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, Gusto, QuickBooks)
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with 10-key entry
