Description
This is a full-time, fixed-term (2 years) position based primarily at the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus. Applications close at 23:59 on 2 February 2026.
This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK or be able to secure this independently without University sponsorship.
Digital Technology Services (DTS) is at the centre of the University of Reading’s digital transformation, supporting teaching, learning, research, and professional services. The Service Desk acts as the primary point of contact for IT support for staff and students.
The University is recruiting two Service Desk Analysts to join a friendly, supportive, and forward-looking team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support across a range of technologies
- Support users via phone, email, live chat, and face-to-face
- Take ownership of incidents from first contact through to resolution
- Ensure users are informed and supported throughout the process
- Deliver a high standard of customer service
- Escalate complex issues when required
Skills and Experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Interest in IT service delivery and digital support
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Additional Information
