About the Role

UK Power Networks is recruiting a Junior DevOps Engineer to join the Analytics & DevOps Team within the Strategy, Regulation and Support Services directorate, based in London.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career DevOps professional to grow within a collaborative, agile, and innovative environment while contributing to the organisation’s digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of machine learning models, dashboards, and Plotly Dash applications in production
  • Assist with managing GitHub repositories, ensuring good version control and code quality
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to support infrastructure and deployment workflows
  • Troubleshoot basic infrastructure, deployment, and application performance issues
  • Learn and apply DevOps best practices, including automated testing and configuration management

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working with Python (essential)
  • Basic proficiency with GitHub or Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools
  • Some experience with TDD or BDD
  • Exposure to dashboards, web applications, APIs, or machine learning models
  • Basic understanding of cloud-based architecture (Azure is an advantage)
