The National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) is the UK’s national laboratory dedicated to accelerating the development and adoption of quantum computing. Based at the Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire, NQCC works across government, industry, and academia to address the engineering challenges of scaling quantum computers and building a quantum-ready economy.

NQCC is a joint initiative of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), and forms part of the wider National Quantum Technologies Programme (NQTP).

 Overview

NQCC is seeking a Governance Support Officer to support the Programme Manager with governance, assurance, compliance, and programme delivery activities. The role involves close collaboration with scientists, engineers, developers, and programme teams to support the delivery of the UK’s quantum computing objectives.

Flexible working arrangements are available, including full-time or part-time options (minimum 0.8 FTE), with at least three days per week on site.

 Responsibilities

  • Support governance structures, including preparation and administration of meetings
  • Assist with risk and issue management, including data collection and reporting
  • Monitor progress against organisational objectives and improve reporting visualisation
  • Support assurance reviews and compliance with STFC and UKRI processes
  • Administer and improve Knowledge Information Management (KIM) systems
  • Provide role-adjacent support across the Programme Delivery team

Essential Requirements

  • Substantial experience in governance, assurance, compliance, or programme reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with complex data from collection to reporting
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
  • Proactive problem-solving approach
