About the Role

As a Children’s Social Worker, you will work within multi-agency teams to support vulnerable children and families across Manchester. Positions are available in various city localities including North, Central, South, and specialist teams such as Cared For and Fostering. Manchester City Council is rated “Good” by Ofsted and is working towards becoming “Outstanding.” The council provides strong professional support, manageable caseloads, and opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with children and families requiring support or protection
  • Undertake safeguarding and child protection work
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners including police and early help teams
  • Develop care plans and ensure child welfare outcomes
  • Participate in reflective supervision and professional development programmes

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must be a qualified and registered Social Worker, be available for an in-person interview, and hold a full UK driving licence. Candidates must also be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Applicants who have lived abroad may also need to provide a Certificate of Good Character.
