Job Description
The Project Manager will provide strategic oversight and execution support for major projects, ensuring timely completion, effective coordination of diverse stakeholders, and meticulous documentation and administration. This role involves interacting with independent researchers, artists, vendors, and grantors, as well as managing detailed project logistics, budgets, and deliverables.
About Ideal48 Stories:
Ideal48 is an experience design and storytelling studio that helps organizations uncover and elevate the untold stories of Black and other culturally rich narratives often left out of mainstream spaces. We specialize in research-driven exhibitions, documentaries, and activations that blend history, and culture to create powerful public experiences. Our mission is to shift narratives and inspire action through immersive, narrative-rich design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage multiple concurrent projects,
- Serve as the primary liaison among independent researchers, artists, vendors, and other contractors to ensure timely communication, submission of required documentation, invoices, and deliverables.
- Maintain and organize project documentation within the Ideal48 database to ensure accessibility and clarity for ongoing and future projects.
- Manage project timelines, monitor deadlines, and proactively identify potential bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with the Founder and stakeholders to align project execution with strategic vision.
- Provide administrative support including timesheet approvals, invoice processing, and vendor management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably within cultural heritage, nonprofit, arts, or historical documentation sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to independently coordinate with diverse teams and vendors.
- Proficient in project management software and database management.
- Familiarity with grant management and reporting is strongly preferred.
- Passion for history, heritage preservation, and community storytelling.
Compensation:
This position is funded through project-specific grants. Compensation will be structured as a percentage of project budgets and discussed during the selection process
