Job description

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join the Translational Genetics Team. This role supports research and operational activities essential for the successful delivery of team grants. The successful candidate will assist with team meetings, financial and procurement tasks, and the day-to-day management of transformational programmes focused on cancer susceptibility genetics.

 Responsibilities

  • Manage financial tracking, procurement, and process team expenses
  • Assist with daily operations, including data entry and preparation of materials for patients
  • Maintain team trackers and databases for grant awards and publications
  • Coordinate meetings with charities, patient groups, researchers, clinicians, and NHS/HEE partners
  • Support public and patient involvement/engagement (PPI/E) activities
  • Maintain organized filing systems and records

About You

We’re looking for a detail-oriented team member with:

  • GCSE-level education (or equivalent)
  • Proven administrative experience, ideally in a research or healthcare setting
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
