About the Role

Are you ready to lead and coordinate the operations that keep a digital department running efficiently? We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) team in a pivotal role, ensuring the department operates smoothly and effectively in support of the University’s strategic ambitions.

As Operations Manager, you will lead all non-technical operations and administration within the department. You’ll work closely with the Chief Digital Officer and senior leadership team to coordinate governance, manage departmental communications, support reporting to university committees, and foster collaboration across teams.

You’ll be the first point of contact for non-specialist queries and will build strong working relationships across HR, Finance, and other professional services. You’ll also lead a small, diverse team—creating a collaborative, inclusive working environment that supports wellbeing and recognition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate governance, leadership, and management meetings.
  • Lead non-technical processes and departmental policies.
  • Manage internal communications and facilities.
  • Provide strategic and administrative support to senior leadership.
  • Oversee budget planning and support HR processes in partnership with other business units.

  • Proven experience managing operations or administration in complex environments (preferably higher education or the public sector).
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Effective governance and reporting experience.
  • Excellent communication, sound judgement, and stakeholder engagement skills.
