Job Summary
The Associate Program Officer II is a self-motivated, well-organized professional with strong communication and customer service skills. This role provides programmatic and administrative support for an assigned portfolio of the Foundation’s funding programs, from application to grant award and reporting. The position supports the Strengthening Communities/Improving Lives and Livelihoods (SCILLS) grant program.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process communications relating to assigned programs.
- Conduct initial review of grant applications.
- Provide guidance and coaching to applicants.
- Manage internal and external review processes.
- Coordinate with grantees, reviewers, and translators/interpreters.
- Maintain accurate records of applications and grants.
- Support Communications team with grant program outcomes.
- Work with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team to track impact.
- Ensure timely grantee reporting and payments.
- Schedule check-in calls and site visits with grantees.
- Contribute to overall program launch plans and improvements.
- Support other team members as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- 5–7 years of related customer-oriented experience (preferably in grantmaking).
- Experience working remotely in multicultural environments.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; Spanish and French desirable.
- Strong problem-solving and presentation skills.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, online collaboration tools, grants management systems such as Fluxx).
- Commitment to the Internet Society’s mission and values.
- Experience with globally distributed teams and time zone coordination.
- Ability to travel as needed.
