Job Overview
We are seeking a Principal Manager for Community Adult Social Care Services at Salford Care Organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join us at a time of innovation, where we are embedding community-led support across integrated services, focusing on strengths-based practice and maximising choice and control for individuals.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead at both operational and strategic levels, shaping and delivering adult social care services.
- Promote multi-disciplinary working to improve outcomes and support people closer to home.
- Embed strong ethical social work values and a culture of coproduction, learning and continuous improvement.
- Ensure services comply with Health and Social Care legislation, policy, and best practice.
- Work collaboratively with Principal Managers, Heads of Service and professional leads to deliver integrated care priorities.
- Oversee large budgets, projects, governance, and risk management.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential):
- Recognised Social Work qualification OR registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or other health professional.
Registration (Essential):
- Social Worker (Social Work England),
- Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist/Speech & Language (HCPC), or
- Nurse (NMC).
Knowledge & Experience (Essential):
- Significant post-qualification and strategic management experience in statutory services.
- Understanding of Adult Safeguarding, Care Act 2014, governance, and risk management.
- Experience managing large budgets and projects.
- Skilled in delivering strengths-based approaches.
Skills (Essential):
- Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency partners.
- Analytical, IT literate, and able to manage complex service demands.
Desirable:
- Long-term strategic planning experience.
