About the Role

We are seeking a Business & Finance Analyst to oversee day-to-day finance functions, manage a small team, and provide high-quality financial and business intelligence reporting for enjoy leisure. This role is key in ensuring accurate monitoring and forecasting of organisational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

  • Prepare and post month-end journals
  • Reconcile payroll data and balance sheet accounts
  • Support VAT return preparation
  • Produce monthly reports with commentary on results, forecasts, and risks
  • Manage two Finance Assistants (Sales & Purchase Ledger)
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc analysis

Business Reporting

  • Build and maintain a directory of accessible reports
  • Investigate and resolve financial/system discrepancies
  • Approve membership direct debit runs and post transactions
  • Conduct benchmarking and recommend system improvements
  • Lead system upgrades and develop policies

Other Duties

  • Support statutory accounts and audit preparation
  • Deliver training to colleagues on finance systems and reporting
  • Deputise for Head of Finance & Systems when required
  • Promote enjoy’s values and continuous improvement culture

Qualifications

Essential

  • ‘Higher’, NC or SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience)
  • Part-qualified accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) and working towards full qualification
  • Basic Disclosure

Desirable

  • Fully qualified accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA)

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience in a financial environment
  • Business intelligence report design and delivery
  • Customer service background
  • Collaborative team experience

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Technology One accounting software
  • Knowledge of Legend Leisure Management System

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (especially Excel)
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
