Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an IT Service Desk 2nd Line Team Leader to join our IM&T team at Littlemore Mental Health Centre, Oxford.

You will lead a team of five technicians, providing high-level 2nd line IT support across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and systems, ensuring service excellence in line with our Service Level Agreements.

This role is a key escalation point for technician queries and involves collaborating with other IT teams, incident management, and producing performance metrics to support service improvements.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, though adjustments may be considered under the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties

  • Lead, organise, and motivate the 2nd line technical team.
  • Recruit, train, and appraise staff; manage the on-call rota.
  • Provide performance reports and statistics to inform service improvements.
  • Act as a professional interface with third-party service desks.
  • Maintain and publish team documentation to departmental standards.

Person specification

Essential
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, OS troubleshooting, and IT service desk systems.
  • Experience in IT support, troubleshooting hardware/software, and customer-facing IT environments.
  • Proven leadership and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines and SLAs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Accreditation Certification.
Desirable
  • Troubleshooting experience with Office 365 and Windows OS.
  • ITIL Service Management (Foundation).
  • Previous management, change management, or NHS experience.
