About the Role

Liverpool City Council is seeking a skilled and motivated ICT Technical Specialist (Server Engineer) to join the Infrastructure Team within ICT Technical Management.

In this key role, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the Council’s cloud-hosted server platforms, with a particular focus on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Azure VMware Solution (AVS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
  • Administer Azure VMware Solution (AVS) infrastructure
  • Oversee Windows Server administration
  • Support virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Manage identity and access (Azure AD, Group Policy)
  • Provide backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Deliver incident management, problem diagnosis, and disaster recovery support
