Location: MacLaurin Building, Hatfield / Hybrid (minimum 2 days on campus per week)
Salary: £26K – £29K (UH4 £25,804–£28,778pa pro rata, annual increments by skills/experience)
Hours: 37 per week | Contract: Permanent | Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata + public holidays + 4 additional days at Christmas/New Year

Overview

We are looking for an innovative and proactive Business Support Administrator to join our Marketing and Communications team. You will support the day-to-day operations of the department, including HR, finance, business continuity, and general administrative tasks. The role also involves managing the University student ambassador scheme and providing direct support to departmental Leadership.

 Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Planning and Business Support Manager and departmental Leadership.
  • Compile reports, manage spreadsheets and databases, prepare presentations, and draft correspondence.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service, handling queries via email, phone, online platforms, and in person.
  • Act as a point of contact for external partners and student ambassadors.
  • Support key University events (e.g., open days).

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Quick to learn new systems and processes and effective in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
  • A-levels or equivalent preferred, or proven professional experience.
