About the Role

As part of our mission to become the world’s most innovative oceanographic institution, NOC is investing in professional project management expertise across the organisation.

The Project Manager will play a central role in delivering strategically important projects across a diverse portfolio, including:

  • Marine science
  • Research infrastructure
  • Commercial development
  • Corporate infrastructure

This role requires applying both Waterfall and Agile project management approaches, with a particular emphasis on supporting complex, moving-goal projects in scientific and technological development.

You will also contribute to NOC’s professional community of practice by sharing knowledge, applying best practice methodologies, and supporting colleagues across multiple disciplines.

About You

We are seeking a skilled project management professional who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in applying both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of diverse funding environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across engineers, scientists, corporate staff, and senior leaders.
  • A collaborative approach, working effectively with fellow project managers to provide a customer-focused service.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in project management.

Location

This role is based at our Southampton centre, which is well-connected by public transport. Facilities include free onsite parking, over 40 EV charging points, and cycle parking.
