Purpose of the Role

As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting Barclays to achieve its strategic objectives. You will be responsible for identifying business requirements, developing solutions, and ensuring these are effectively implemented to address business problems and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyse business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation
  • Develop business requirements that align with strategic goals and address identified challenges
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions meet their expectations
  • Support business case creation to justify investments in new solutions
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of proposed solutions
  • Produce progress reports to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Design operational processes to support effective delivery of solutions
  • Assist in change management activities, including maintaining traceability to ensure successful implementation

Analyst Expectations

  • Deliver assigned tasks on time and to a high standard, driving continuous improvement
  • Demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge of business analysis principles and practices
  • Influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) when required, advising on complex projects or programmes
  • Lead or support teams, guiding professional development and resource allocation

Candidate Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in business analysis
  • Strong background in continuous improvement
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience within financial services

Desirable Skills:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) experience in relevant projects
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry environment
  • Business process mapping, operational design, and requirements documentation
