Overview
Magentic, backed by Sequoia Capital and other leading tech visionaries, is on a mission to revolutionise global manufacturing supply chains with next-generation AI systems.
As our first Data Engineer, you’ll partner with ML engineers, product teams, and domain experts to transform raw supply chain data into actionable insights. This is your chance to build the foundation of data systems that will support hundreds of Fortune 500 companies while tackling real-world challenges at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate scalable ingestion pipelines for high-volume global supply chain data.
- Manage data schemas, catalogues, and feature stores—ensuring consistency and discoverability.
- Build monitoring and observability for data quality, lineage, latency, and completeness.
- Implement secure data governance practices (encryption, RBAC, GDPR compliance).
- Collaborate with AI, Platform, and Product teams to provision datasets and features for ML.
- Continuously improve efficiency and reliability through testing, automation, and incident reviews.
Requirements
- 5+ years in data engineering with focus on data quality and DataOps.
- Proven expertise with AWS or Azure data services.
- Advanced programming skills in Python (or equivalent).
- Experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, or similar frameworks.
- Strong skills in data modelling, schema management, and integration.
- Proficiency in SQL & NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD, and observability tools.
- Collaborative mindset and passion for mission-driven innovation.
