About the Role
As our first Sales Engineer, you’ll be the technical bridge between our product and customers. You’ll shape Tracer’s market positioning, deliver hands-on demos, and ensure every sales conversation combines technical depth with clear business value.
This role is ideal for a technically fluent communicator who thrives in customer-facing environments.
Responsibilities
- Own positioning, messaging, and sales assets for key features and launches
- Shadow calls, identify friction, and improve decks, docs, and demos
- Build a repeatable narrative engine (value props, objection handling, one-pagers)
- Translate technical capabilities into benefits across ICPs
- Coordinate with design, growth, and founders to drive demand and conversion
- Maintain a tight feedback loop from sales conversations to product impact
Skills & Experience (Required)
- 5+ years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical pre-sales (B2B SaaS preferred)
- Strong technical background (developer tools, infrastructure, or observability ideal)
- Proven ability to improve win rates through sharper demos & storytelling
- Excellent communication: technical detail + executive-level narrative
- London-based or willing to relocate
Nice-to-haves
- Coding or engineering background (Rust, TypeScript, cloud infra)
- Technical storytelling via projects, blogs, or content
- Experience selling to FinOps, DevEx, enterprise, cybersecurity, or life sciences
