This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to building our DevOps engineering capability, culture, and mindsets within the bank. You’ll be promoting technical and cultural change, accelerating learning journeys, and driving the progressive adoption of our DevOps Centre of Excellence practices and techniques. As you build relationships across teams, you’ll ensure decisions are commercially focused and deliver long-term value for the bank.
What You’ll Do
As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll support the Cloud and DevOps team in building a new hosting platform in AWS, while also assisting in the migration of services from private cloud to public cloud.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Measuring, understanding, and visualising value delivery using DevOps tools, techniques, and processes
- Collaborating with teams across the bank to improve the platform
- Providing feedback on policies, standards, and DevOps tooling
- Ensuring decisions are guided by robust data, ROI, and intelligent cost management
The Skills You’ll Need
We’re looking for someone with experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and a strong understanding of software development and automation scripting (Python or Shell).
Essential skills include:
- Proficiency with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Knowledge and experience in AWS hosting and services
- Understanding of programming languages, preferably Java (Spring Boot)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitLab
- Familiarity with Observability tooling such as Grafana Loki, Tempo, Mimir, and Prometheus
