About the Opportunity

As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our Boots stores, you’ll be a key member of the pharmacy team. You’ll support pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

No previous experience is required — full training is provided while you complete your NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.

You’ll spend your time building great relationships with patients — greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring safe sales of medicines, and providing healthcare advice to support informed health and wellness decisions.

Please note: This role is based in-store within the UK.
Remote or overseas applications will not be considered unless valid UK right to work and relevant qualifications can be confirmed.

 Responsibilities

  • Complete the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 training programme.
  • Dispense prescriptions safely — ordering, labelling, endorsing, and managing collections.
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to deliver pharmacy services.
  • Provide care and advice about medicines and refer queries to the pharmacist.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe and legal dispensing.
  • Stay up to date with new store innovations and operational processes.
  • Support patients in managing their prescriptions and reducing waste.

You’ll also work with evolving digital systems to improve patient safety and free up more time for patient care.

What You’ll Need

  • A genuine desire to learn and complete the NVQ2 training programme.
  • Valid UK right to work (this role is not eligible for Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship).

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Previous experience in community pharmacy.

Benefits

  • Discretionary Christmas Gift Payment.
  • Generous staff discount.
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card.
  • Flexible benefits scheme.
  • 24/7 access to counselling and wellbeing support via TELUS Health Employee Assistance Programme.
