About the Role
Point72 is seeking a talented Data Analyst to join its Long/Short Equity investing team within the EMEA region. As part of our core investment strategy, you’ll play a critical role in connecting data and fundamental research to support investment decisions.
You’ll work closely with a Portfolio Manager and research analysts to analyse diverse data sources, develop predictive models, and build tools that enhance investment performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse a broad universe of compliance-approved data to influence investment ideas and decisions.
- Design, build, and maintain data products and predictive models to evaluate KPIs and forward-looking metrics.
- Investigate innovative methods to extract insights from complex datasets.
- Develop automated systems that analyse real-time information to support timely decision-making.
- Optimise and scale existing data infrastructure for performance and reliability.
- Write efficient, modular, and well-documented code for analytical and data pipeline solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with approved technologies and best practices within the firm.
- Partner with Compliance on initiatives related to data governance and permissible analytics.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Strong quantitative skills and experience with structured, unstructured, and time-series data.
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts applied to financial datasets.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative coding environments.
- Skilled in data visualisation and the ability to present insights clearly.
- Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.
