We’re seeking a Software Developer to help shape the future of the PRIDE ecosystem. You’ll develop core web services, AI-ready data systems, and bioinformatics tools supporting global research communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new web services for large-scale proteomics datasets.
- Contribute to the transformation of PRIDE into an AI-ready platform.
- Integrate large language models (LLMs) and metadata tools.
- Collaborate with EMBL-EBI teams to enhance data integration with global resources.
- Optimize web applications in Vue.js for data search and presentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in software engineering or computer science.
- Strong programming skills in Java and Python.
- Experience with Vue.js, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
- Knowledge of microservices, JSON, XML, NoSQL, and relational databases.
- Excellent teamwork and communication in an international environment.
Desirable Skills
- Background in bioinformatics or mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
- Experience with DuckDB, Parquet, or PySpark.
- Familiarity with LLM deployment in production systems.

- Salary: £3,303 – £3,554 per month (after tax).
