About the Role

Westmorland & Furness Council’s Public Health team is recruiting a full-time, permanent Service Support Manager to support strategic planning and delivery across the full range of local authority public health functions.
This role offers the opportunity to work with senior leaders and partners to improve health and wellbeing outcomes and reduce health inequalities across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate service planning for the Public Health team.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate strategies and policies, including equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Support strategic partnerships across Public Health priorities.
  • Oversee reports and funding allocations to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Promote innovative, outcome-focused delivery aligned with Council objectives.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a motivated professional with:

  • Experience working within a Local Authority or similar organisation.
  • Strong project management and planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Competence with IT systems and financial management support.

Hybrid working is available with office bases in Barrow-in-Furness, Kendal, and Penrith.
