Overview
Manchester City Council is looking for Accommodation Support Workers to join our housing and homelessness services.
This is a rewarding role working directly with some of the most vulnerable members of society, including individuals experiencing homelessness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing face-to-face support to residents in areas such as:
- Universal Credit, ID applications, and banking
- Health, drug, alcohol, and mental health referrals
- Budgeting, life skills, and personalised support plans
- Preparing residents to move into long-term accommodation
- Preparing rooms for re-let, cleaning, health & safety checks, and reporting repairs
- Supporting residents within shared accommodation across 12 houses and projects
- Lone-working and working in a fast-paced, challenging environment
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Be empathetic, motivated, and passionate about helping vulnerable people
- Have strong communication and people skills
- Be flexible and adaptable when dealing with challenging situations
- Hold a full valid driving licence (essential)
