Salary: £37,466 – £44,211 per year

About the Role
Join the National Audit Office (NAO) and play a key role in holding the UK Government to account for public spending. As an Analyst in the Analysis Hub, you’ll apply quantitative techniques, build analytical tools, and deliver insights that influence national decisions and improve public services. You’ll work on impactful projects, from developing fraud risk models to using machine learning for audit assurance, collaborating with expert colleagues in an independent and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret large, complex datasets using Python or R.
- Build and maintain analytical tools for audit and value-for-money reports.
- Present technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Provide analytical advice across the organisation and develop new methods.
- Support model assurance and review processes.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in Python or R (SQL desirable).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience managing large datasets and producing clear, evidence-based insights.
- A minimum 2:1 degree (or Master’s) in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or similar.
