About the Role
Join the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an Azure Platform Engineer to help shape and secure the FCA’s cloud environment. You’ll work within the End User Compute department to build scalable Azure solutions that support a digital-first, data-led regulator.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and assess Azure solution designs, delivering Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and defining future engineering standards.
- Implement and manage Conditional Access Policies to strengthen cloud security and compliance.
- Develop Power BI dashboards and design KQL queries to deliver actionable insights.
- Collaborate across Azure teams to optimise costs, drive automation, and enhance performance.
- Work with the Resiliency Team on disaster recovery strategies to ensure reliability and data integrity.
- Contribute to shaping the FCA’s Azure estate and drive innovation using Microsoft Cloud technologies.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum:
- Proven experience in Azure Cloud Engineering with cloud-native services.
- Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Azure environments for performance and cost efficiency.
- Skilled in Terraform, GitHub, and Azure Administration for automation and governance.
Essential: - Hands-on experience with Azure IAM, Conditional Access, Azure Functions, Defender for Cloud, Firewall, VNet Peering, PowerShell, and Azure CLI.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Strong understanding of Azure Policies and Landing Zone Architecture, supported by Azure certifications.
