Bank Community Health Care Assistant – SDH&C

Job Overview

The Staff bank for Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust is looking for enthusiastic and experienced Community Health Care Assistants to join our workforce via Surrey Downs Health and Care (SDHC). We provide care close to communities through our Primary Care Networks and a robust partnership of NHS organisations:

  • GP Federations in the Surrey Downs area
  • CSH Surrey
  • Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust
  • Surrey County Council

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a partnership focused on person-centric, community-based care.

Primary locations needing cover:

  • Dorking PCN
  • ICP PCN
  • Cobham and Oxshott
  • Leatherhead

Note: Please only apply if you have experience as a Community HCA and meet the competency requirements listed below.


Main Duties

  • Clinical observations: Temperature, Pulse, BP (lying/standing), Respiration, Pulse Oximetry, Blood Glucose
  • General hygiene and mouth care
  • Pressure ulcer care and treatment
  • Wound care (simple dressings)
  • Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT)
  • Basic catheter care
  • Venepuncture
  • Subcutaneous injections (e.g., Insulin, Dalteparin)
  • Coaguchek (INR testing)

Person Specification

Experience

  • Essential: At least 6 months’ experience as a Health Care Assistant.

Skills & Competencies

  • All HCA competencies listed in the “Main Duties” section above.
