Behavioural Support Assistant – Manchester (M11)

Overview
A large, inclusive primary school in East Manchester is looking for a dedicated Behavioural Support Assistant to join their well-established SEND provision. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting pupils from EYFS to Year 6 with complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, sensory needs, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils
- Assist with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and behaviour management
- Support communication needs, including non-verbal pupils
- Deliver tailored strategies and interventions alongside the SEND team
- Maintain a calm, safe, and structured learning environment
- Contribute to personalised plans, behaviour reports, and daily logs
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
Requirements:
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND or challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
- Confidence in supporting emotional and behavioural regulation
- Commitment to full-time, long-term work (Mon–Fri)
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
- Team Teach or equivalent training is advantageous
- Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children
