About the Role
Pan Macmillan is seeking an experienced BI Developer to lead the migration and redevelopment of their Tableau dashboards as part of a wider modernization project.

This is more than a cosmetic refresh — it’s a strategic transformation aligning dashboards with a modern data warehouse, improving reporting logic, usability, and performance across the business.

You’ll work at the intersection of technology and publishing, translating complex data into intuitive visual stories that drive decision-making.

Your Team
You’ll join a collaborative Analytics team of five, reporting to the Head of Analytics and working closely with Data Engineers and Analysts.

The focus:

  • Transforming Tableau dashboards
  • Aligning reporting with a modern warehouse (Snowflake/dbt)
  • Ensuring actionable, high-quality insights across departments

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead redevelopment and migration of Tableau dashboards
  • Build high-performance dashboards (calculated fields, optimization, usability)
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers using tools like dbt and Snowflake
  • Write and interpret complex SQL for validation and logic audits
  • Create documentation (wireframes, definitions, dashboard reviews)
  • Deliver user training and embed dashboards into business workflows
  • Support business-as-usual analytics operations
  • Manage timelines and deliverables

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience modernizing reporting/dashboard suites
  • Strong Tableau Desktop expertise
  • Solid understanding of dimensional modelling (facts, dimensions, grain)
  • Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Advanced SQL proficiency
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
  • Agile project delivery experience

Desirable Experience

  • Publishing, media, or consumer data exposure
  • dbt and advanced database objects (materialized views, dynamic tables)
  • Tableau Cloud management
  • Migration project experience
  • Familiarity with tools like Asana
