Business Analyst – CRM

Overview

The University of Glasgow is seeking a Business Analyst to join its Transformation Team to support the implementation of a new Salesforce CRM platform. This 12-month fixed-term role involves working with stakeholders across marketing, recruitment, and admissions to understand current processes, define future needs, and co-create solutions that enhance the experience of students and staff while improving operational efficiency.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist business analysis aligned with CRM objectives and university strategy.
  • Critically assess current and future processes; define functional, non-functional, and integration requirements for Salesforce.
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams to ensure alignment.
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to gather insights and validate solutions.
  • Support process improvements as workflows are moved into the new Salesforce platform.
  • Create test cases, scripts, and support pre-release testing.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful CRM adoption.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in business analysis and project environments.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Expertise in developing functional and non-functional requirements and data integration mapping.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Higher Education organisations.
  • Familiarity with Agile project delivery, Jira/Confluence, and software testing methodologies (e.g., ISTQB).
  • Experience supporting CRM implementations, integrations, and data analysis.
