The National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) is the UK’s national laboratory dedicated to accelerating the development and adoption of quantum computing. Based at Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire, the NQCC works with government, industry, and academia to tackle the challenges of scaling quantum computers and to build a quantum-ready economy.
As part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the NQCC is a joint initiative of EPSRC and STFC, contributing to the wider National Quantum Technologies Programme.

About the Role

As the Business Development and Partnership Manager, you will:

  • Identify and secure collaborative and commercial opportunities aligned with NQCC’s strategic goals
  • Build and manage relationships across government, industry, and academia
  • Maintain a pipeline of business opportunities from engagement to agreement
  • Manage bid reviews and funding proposals
  • Provide market intelligence on quantum computing trends
  • Represent the NQCC nationally and internationally

  • Pipeline Development: Build and manage business opportunities
  • Bid Management: Oversee proposal and review processes
  • Stakeholder Management: Foster and maintain external relationships
  • Opportunity Development: Develop business cases and funding bids
  • Market Intelligence: Track trends to inform strategy
  • Reporting: Monitor engagement metrics and report to leadership
  • Advocacy: Represent and promote the NQCC externally

Person Specification

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical/scientific/engineering field, or industry experience
  • Strong background in business development, technical sales, or partnerships
  • Experience translating technical concepts into business opportunities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and bid-writing skills
  • Strong organisational and IT skills (MS Office Suite)
  • Knowledge of the quantum computing or related tech landscape
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally
