About the Role
The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) is seeking a Business Development Manager to join the Business and Innovation Office. You will work with academics to protect and commercialise research, secure translational funding, and build industry partnerships.
This role is central to strategic project evaluation, stakeholder engagement, intellectual property protection, deal-making (collaborations and licensing), and spinout opportunity management.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate commercially viable research
- Protect intellectual property and manage confidentiality agreements
- Draft and negotiate licensing and collaboration contracts
- Support translational funding applications
- Drive spinout opportunity management
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with:
- A PhD, MBA or equivalent in a relevant field
- Experience in business development or technology transfer
- A proven track record in negotiating and closing deals with partners
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
