Job Title: Business Strategist
Salary: £48,100 – £64,375 per annum
Location: Cambridge, UK (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)
Contract: Fixed Term (12 months), Full-time (35 hours/week)
Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking a Business Strategist with strong financial modelling, analytical capabilities, and strategic problem-solving experience. This role plays a critical part in shaping corporate strategy and investment decisions that impact over 100 million learners globally.
You will join a small, collaborative Strategy team with high visibility across the organisation and significant exposure to senior leadership.
About the Role
As a Business Strategist, you will:
- Apply commercial analysis and financial modelling to support corporate strategy and investment decisions
- Produce and evaluate business cases for new opportunities
- Create board-level presentations and insight-driven reports
- Contribute to and potentially lead strategic projects across the organisation
- Facilitate workshops and discussions with senior stakeholders
- Partner with business areas to drive clarity, action, and measurable impact
- Identify and shape future strategic priorities for the Strategy team
You will work closely with Business Strategists, Heads of Strategy, and the Chief Strategy Officer, presenting regularly to senior executives.
About You (Essential Skills & Experience)
- Experience in strategy (consultancy, corporate strategy, or FP&A)
- Strong project-based problem-solving skills
- Highly analytical, with experience in market research and financial modelling
- Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills
- Excellent communication skills, able to synthesise complex issues for senior audiences
