 Summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Catering Assistants (Retail) to join the team at Queen’s Hospital Burton.

We are looking for compassionate, caring, hardworking, and flexible individuals who are committed to enhancing patient experience. You must have excellent communication skills, be a strong team player, and possess a positive “can-do” attitude.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Catering Assistant, you will work as part of the Facilities and Ward teams to perform a range of catering and cleaning tasks:

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Deliver excellent customer service with helpfulness, awareness, and compassion.
  • Perform cleaning duties within the kitchen and associated areas, following departmental schedules (including equipment, work surfaces, crockery, and cutlery).

You should have a basic understanding of Maths and English, good communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset.
Catering experience and a Food Safety Certificate are desirable but not essential — full training (including Level 2 Food Safety and Allergen training) will be provided.
