Overview
Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is seeking Children’s Palliative Healthcare Assistants to provide compassionate and holistic care to children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions at our Birmingham Hospice.
As part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team, you will work under the direction of registered nurses to deliver personalised care that supports each child’s physical, emotional, and social needs in a warm, homely environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Follow each child’s individual care plan and report any changes in condition
- Support children, young people, and their families in making informed care decisions
- Encourage engagement in creative and stimulating indoor and outdoor activities
- Promote wellbeing and comfort, addressing psychological and social needs
About You
- Essential: Care Certificate (or willingness to complete)
- Essential: Experience working with children with complex health needs
- Desirable: Experience in a palliative care setting
- Understanding of safeguarding policies for children and vulnerable adults
- Compassionate, sensitive, and culturally aware approach to care
