Overview
Rullion is expanding its Site Engineering Team in Bristol. We are looking for a Civil Structural Design Engineer to work collaboratively on innovative and technical solutions for complex construction challenges.
You will join an integrated site design team consisting of civil engineers, BIM coordinators, and draftsmen, focusing on Nuclear Island structures at Hinkley Point C. Your work will involve addressing construction requests from design packages provided by our international back office.
Key Responsibilities
- Modify reinforced concrete and steel structure designs compliant with ETC-C, Eurocodes, and project methodology.
- Coordinate and review detailing activities with CAD designers and engineers for 3D BIM rebar models and 2D drawings.
- Manage engineering changes in accordance with company/project procedures and QA processes.
- Assess and respond to Field Change Requests, Field Information Requests, and Site Non-Conformance reports from contractors.
- Liaise with construction and site engineering teams for clarification on site requests.
- Communicate with the Back Office in France, Poland, Romania, and Tunisia to resolve design package issues.
- Review and approve contractor deliverables, including site inspections and walkdowns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree-qualified Civil Engineer (mandatory)
- 4–5 years of experience in structural engineering
- Practical knowledge of detailed design phases and construction implementation
- Experience in highly regulated industries using Eurocodes and BS standards
- Proficiency in reinforced concrete and steel structures
- Chartered Engineer status (desirable)
- Must have the right to work in the UK (Visa sponsorship candidates considered if already held)
- Eligible for BPSS Clearance
