About the Role

Join the Cloud Operations team at the Bank of England’s Technology Directorate — managing and supporting Azure cloud infrastructure that underpins critical national systems.

In this role, you’ll maintain and enhance the Bank’s Cloud Platform using Terraform, GitHub, and Kubernetes, working in an Agile environment to ensure secure, efficient, and scalable operations.

 Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure for uptime and performance.
  • Troubleshoot incidents and provide 24/7 support (L2/L3).
  • Maintain Terraform modules (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.
  • Support patching, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cloud improvements.
  • Maintain detailed operational documentation.

Essential Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud and monitoring tools.
  • 24/7 on-call L2/L3 support experience.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation and GitHub.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and DevOps principles.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
  • Exposure to Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate.
