Role Overview
Global Technology is seeking a Cloud FinOps Analyst to support public cloud platforms and cost management. This role is key to optimising cloud usage, implementing cost-saving strategies, and ensuring full visibility of cloud consumption across the organisation.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and procurement teams, acting as a bridge between finance and technology to drive efficient and cost-optimised cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract and analyse complex data from cloud billing and usage platforms.
- Build and maintain automated dashboards and reporting tools for financial and technical stakeholders.
- Improve self-service spend analytics with meaningful metrics, trends, and forecasts.
- Monitor, analyse, and recommend optimisations for cloud expenditures.
- Manage reserved instances, savings plans, and spot instances with infrastructure and cloud vendors.
- Provide technical guidance on cost transparency, usage optimisation, and new project cost estimation.
- Track market developments and share knowledge on emerging cloud optimisation tools and practices.
Experience / Competences
Essential:
- Strong data analysis and data science skills.
- Expertise in public clouds (preferably AWS), with experience in cloud financial management.
- Financial planning skills with ability to prepare dashboards and reports.
- Technical proficiency, including scripting/automation experience.
- Knowledge of cost levers in public cloud consumption.
- Prior experience with cloud dashboards, reservation management, and FinOps tooling.
- Understanding of the Financial Services industry and how cloud solutions can address its challenges.
