Overview

Are you highly organised, confident in managing projects, and passionate about driving change?
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Communications Officer (Projects) to support its dynamic Communications and Engagement team.

You’ll work alongside over 20 communications professionals, helping deliver transformational projects, campaigns, and events that have a real impact. This role requires creativity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

You will report to the Associate Director (Planning and Development) and collaborate closely with the Strategic Communications team and project leads across the Engagement and Experience division.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage communications projects, programmes, campaigns, and events
  • Track project progress and support budget management and procurement
  • Draft and design communications materials, training resources, and marketing collateral
  • Create engaging content, including social media posts and event materials
  • Organise engagement events, workshops, and audience research
  • Support design, coordination, and evaluation of communications projects
  • Assist with project documentation, reports, and planning tools

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Project management qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable:

  • Relevant professional qualification
Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing projects and campaigns within a large organisation
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of technology’s role in project management
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities

Desirable:

  • Market research and data analysis skills
  • Design experience
Communications Skills

Essential:

  • Track record of producing tailored content for multiple audiences
  • Experience managing integrated communications and marketing campaigns
  • Strong event organisation skills
  • Knowledge of digital engagement tools and analytics
  • Experience in content creation and evaluation

Desirable:

  • NHS or healthcare communications experience
  • Experience commissioning creative content or managing client accounts
Technical Skills

Essential:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Planner, and Copilot
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Power BI and database management tools
