 Overview

Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) is seeking an inspirational Community Team Leader for the CYPMHS West Herts team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled and motivated practitioner with professional qualifications and experience in child and adolescent mental health. The post holder will work across St Albans and Hemel Hempstead sites, leading a multi-disciplinary team supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, including those with complex trauma, attachment difficulties, and neurodiversity.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the multidisciplinary CYPMHS team across two sites.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care and service performance.
  • Manage team operations, caseloads, and service throughput using the CAPA model.
  • Act as care coordinator, planning and reviewing care for children and young people.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and attend multi-agency meetings.
  • Promote participation of service users and carers in service planning and delivery.
  • Uphold Trust values and ensure adherence to safeguarding and equality standards.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Relevant professional registration (e.g., NMC as Mental Health Nurse).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Post-qualification experience in CAMHS or related mental health services.
  • Knowledge of child development and a range of therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision and consultation to others.
  • Car driver and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Desirable:

  • Specialist training in CAPA and CYP-IAPT.
  • Experience in service quality monitoring, audits, or research.
