Salary: Band C – £30,895 per annum
Contract Type: Fixed-Term (1 year)
Location: RAL Space, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell Campus
Working Pattern: Full-Time (flexible working available)

As a Computing Support Analyst, you will support a diverse user base, working across hardware, software, networking, and project activities.

 Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support in-person, by phone and email.
  • Troubleshoot IT issues using the service ticketing system.
  • Participate in IT projects, upgrades and deployments.
  • Install and refresh PCs/laptops as part of hardware lifecycle management.
  • Support Windows, Mac, mobile devices and printers.
  • Onboard new starters and ensure seamless setup.
  • Document fixes, procedures, and support knowledge base updates.
  • Escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to deliver secure, customer-focused IT service.

Person Specification

Essential (Shortlisting & Interview):

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or higher), including Maths, English, and one STEM subject.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience with computing (projects, school work, or personal learning).
  • Knowledge of PC/Mac hardware.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft desktop products.
  • Ability to support users both in person and remotely.
