Customer Service Team Leader
Location: Burton upon Trent, England
Salary: £24,000 – £30,000
Hours: Full-time | 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:30–17:00, with flexibility during peak times)
Overview
We are seeking a Customer Service Team Leader to join our Burton logistics operation. This position is vital in ensuring exceptional customer service, managing site facilities, and overseeing inventory.
As part of the operational team, you will lead colleagues, liaise with customers and suppliers, and help deliver a high standard of service in line with business and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and train a team of Customer Service colleagues
- Provide excellent communication with customers via phone, email, and face-to-face
- Handle queries, complaints, and escalations swiftly and effectively
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory audits and reporting
- Maintain accurate customer records and support warehouse data accuracy
- Raise invoices, log purchase orders, and manage invoice queries
- Chase delivery failures and proof of deliveries (PODs)
- Liaise with suppliers and maintenance companies
- Ensure health & safety standards are adhered to within the workplace
- Collate and analyse KPIs for reporting to management and customers
- Contribute to continuous improvement of customer service procedures
- Support recruitment, training, and appraisals of staff
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- GCSE/Standard Grade in Maths & English (A–C) or equivalent
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role
- Experience with stock auditing and warehouse management systems
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong leadership and communication skills
